Lynne Rolfe Counselling Services

We all feel stuck in life or experience mental health conditions at some point in our lives. This is normal. However, if those feeling persist beyond a couple of weeks it can be beneficial to seek professional help. Counselling can help you to find out why and work with you collaboratively to find strategies that work for you and support you to make changes that improve your mental, physical and emotional wellbeing.

If you have experienced a traumatic event, counselling can help you to explore your physical and emotional responses to the event, help you to process what has happened to you, help you to cope with your reactions and facilitate posttraumatic growth and optimisation.

Grief is something we experience after loss and it can be debilitating and leave us feeling very alone. We may grieve over the death of a loved one, a relationship breakdown, job loss, loss of health, or the loss of future dreams. Grief affects us all differently and there is no right or wrong way to grieve. Sometimes though the pain is so great we are unable to function in our daily lives. At those times it can be helpful to seek professional help.

For whatever reasons you are seeking counselling I will feel honoured and privileged to work with you and do my best to help you to feel safe, cared for and empowered.

Counselling Service - How It Works

Normally counselling starts through an evaluation process. A number of decisions need to be made by both you, as the client, and me as counsellor. I will need to decide if I am able to provide you with best possible service to meet your requirements and you have to decide if you are comfortable with me. We both need to agree on your goals for counselling and how best to achieve them.

After an initial evaluation, and should you choose to continue, I will be able to offer my initial impression of what counselling will involve. Counselling generally involves commitment and it is your right to choose your counsellor carefully. If you have any doubts about me as your counsellor I will be happy to discuss these openly with you and, if necessary, help you to make an appointment elsewhere.

If you choose to continue I will normally schedule weekly one hour sessions with you though at a mutually agreeable time. The number of counselling sessions required will be dependent upon your situation but this can be discussed as part of the initial plan which is reviewed with you after evaluation.

Lynne Rolfe Counselling is based in Drouin and services clients throughout south-eastern metropolitan Melbourne and West Gippsland, including Warragul, Pakenham, Bunyip, Garfield, Morwell, Traralgon. Online and telephone counselling also available.
